Senior Category Manager

This is a new and exciting role with great development opportunities working in the Waitrose & Morrisons Business Unit. Waitrose Cereals is one of the businesses most strategic accounts and Morrisons is one of our fastest growing accounts; they are both key accounts for JDR. We are looking for someone who can turn insight into action; delivering tangible results for the business through excellent trade relationships. The Senior Category Manager will work closely with all members of the business unit to deliver a bespoke activation plan for the accounts that delivers the best ROI for the business.

Key accountabilities

  • Developing and owning the activation plan and implementation for the Category vision for Morrisons and Waitrose
  • Managing and executing category and range reviews acting as a category validator to deliver the Category plan and Sales Fundamentals objectives
  • Building a relationship with the accounts built on mutual trust, aiming to be an advisor for the category/segment
  • Developing the Sales Fundamentals (Price, Promotion, Distribution & Display) strategy and objectives to ensure competitiveness at point of purchase on core brand and NPD
  • Working with the Senior National Account Managers & Customer Activation Executive on creation and implementation of the best Shopper Activation plan for each account, delivering the best ROI for JDR

Experience and Skills

  • Passion for the category
  • Minimum of 3 years Category Manager and/or Marketing/Commercial experience
  • Proven FMCG experience ideally in online sales/category/shopper marketing
  • Experience of working in or close to a category team
  • Strong excel skills are essential
  • Experience of TNS/IRI/AC Nielsen, Dunnhumby, Aimia
  • You might also have a full UK driving licence
