Senior Category Manager (Maternity Cover)

An exciting opportunity to join a dynamic Commercial Team, as a Senior Category Manager. This role will involve working with leading brands in the Cereals and Savoury Biscuits categories, collaborating with top grocery accounts to deliver and implement a forward-thinking strategy. We are looking for someone who can turn insight into action and deliver tangible results for the business through excellent trade relationships.

Key accountabilities

  • Own the implementation of the category vision in agreed accounts
  • Own the activation plan for the category vision, being tailored to the accounts owned
  • Build a relationship with the accounts built on mutual trust, aiming to be an advisor for the category/segment
  • Developing the Sales Fundamentals (Price, Promotion, Distribution & Display) strategy and objectives to ensure competitiveness at point of purchase on core brand and NPD
  • Working with Account Manager & Customer Activation Exec on creation and implementation of the best Shopper Activation plan for each account, delivering the best ROI for JDR

Experience and Skills

  • Passion for the category
  • • Minimum of 1 years Cat Man and/or Marketing/Commercial experience
  • • Proven FMCG experience ideally in online sales/category/ shopper marketing
  • • Experience of working in or close to a category team
  • • Systems: strong excel skills essential;
  • • Experience of TNS/IRI/AC Nielsen, Dunnhumby, Aimia
